 LITTER BUGSADA Donates VW "New Beetle" to City for Clean-Up Campaign The car features a graphics package identifying it as a "Litter Bug" and will be used by the city in its Anti-Litter and Environmental Awareness campaigns. "There are many worthy causes that SADA supports," says SADA President Doug Burns. "But we view this effort as one of the most important. We, as auto dealers, and the entire community of Central New York, must do everything we can to educate our young people regarding the need to protect our environment, and especially so in our own neighborhoods where we can really make a difference. | LITTER BUG Plans include the creation of an educational component to be taught in the Syracuse City School District at the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade levels. (The thinking behind the program is that children at these grade levels are still reachable with an anti litter message.) School district educators will develop the curriculum. The "Litter Bug" will be operated by the city and be visible at city schools, in city neighborhoods and at city- and county-sponsored events. < < Back to First Page |

Syracuse Auto Dealers Association Announces Scholarship Program In keeping with its commitment to local community support, the Syracuse Automobile Dealers Association announced a Scholarship Initiative for Central New York high school students. Any high school senior planning to attend a New York State college or university can apply to be the recipient of a $1500 scholarship for each of four years. Students: You may apply for this scholarship using the application below. Complete the downloadable PDF form and take to your high school guidance councilor. Be sure to follow the application criteria carefully. Applications are due no later than December 31st.
